A huge congrats is in order! Our very own co-founder and former foster child Taylor DuRard, was recently named a 2023 Jim Casey Fellow. A division of the Annie E. Casey Foundation, this program allows promising former foster youth to serve as equal contributors in the decision-making process around policies, practices, and programming that impact young people in foster care.

The Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative seeks to improve outcomes for foster youth by connecting them with stable housing, supportive adults, educational opportunities, and economic security. So, a perfect match for Jonathan’s Path! The JCYOL partners with young adults like Taylor, who have real-life foster care experience, to address these issues. Jim Casey Fellows will be able to practice skills like leadership, communication, and advocacy, and will be compensated for their time. We know that Taylor will work hard to improve the lives of other foster kids, and we can’t wait to see what he accomplishes next!
