Recently former foster youth Taylor DuRard shared his journey with the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community initiatives. In the interview, Taylor describes the first time an adult, his stepmom, hit him and how his brother was his “light in the darkness.”

Taylor then talks about how his adopted dad, Jase DuRard, taught him how to dream. “He asked me, ‘Where do you see yourself in ten years?’ I said I didn’t know.” Taylor says his dad sat with him until he could develop a vision for his future. Check out Taylor’s full interview here.
