When Maryann C. first connected with Jonathan’s Path, she had a vision for her future—but like so many young people aging out of foster care, she lacked the resources to get there. Today, thanks to the combined support of Mechanics on a Mission and a Jonathan’s Path transportation grant, that vision is coming into focus—one mile at a time.

Maryann, a driven and compassionate young woman, is currently studying to become a nurse at Ascension Medical. Balancing coursework, clinicals, and the demands of everyday life without reliable transportation made her journey all the more challenging. But she never gave up. Her dedication, work ethic, and heart for helping others caught the attention of her mentors and advocates, who knew she just needed one more key to unlock her potential: a car.

That’s where Mechanics on a Mission came in. In partnership with Jonathan’s Path, they helped place Maryann in a safe, reliable vehicle—marking a major milestone in her journey toward independence. Now, with the freedom to get to school, work, and eventually, her new apartment, Maryann is more equipped than ever to take the next steps in building the life she’s always dreamed of.

“I’m so grateful,” Maryann shared. “This car isn’t just transportation—it’s opportunity. It’s freedom. It’s one less thing holding me back.”

At Jonathan’s Path, we believe that every young person aging out of care deserves a strong foundation, a supportive community, and a real shot at stability. Maryann’s story is proof of what’s possible when we all come together to invest in their future.

Congratulations, Maryann—we can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make as a nurse and beyond!
